Holly Mueller from Paradize Valley, AZ has been offering both Botox and Dysport Injections for years and a common question her and her practice get is “What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?”
So, What Is The Difference?
In the united states, there hasn’t been much competition to Botox before 2009 when Dysport came into the picture and even then didn’t become popular until about 2015 when the FDA approved the solution. Dysport is no underdog, the injectable has been very popular in Europe for many many years.
There are only a few differences between Botox and Dysport. They both seem to last just as long and have a similar price tag. The pain seems to reflect the same way, both injections have the same risk factors and the same amount of swelling when you leave the office, Don’t worry, the swelling will go down after a few hours!
A big difference between the two is how the solution spreads. People who have received Dysport have experienced softer lines and a more natural look. Botox, on the other hand, may show a harder line when you compare the areas that have injections vs the areas that have been left alone. This may be because Dysport has a smaller molecule.
Some people have said that the Dysport has lasted longer or they didn’t need as many units as Botox and we would like to point out that everyone’s experience is the difference. What works for you may not work for everyone. It’s important to know the facts and speak with a professional about your options. Holly Mueller and her staff are available Monday-Friday for questions and free consultations. If you’re interested in an appointment you can reach the office at 602) 883-4313.
